માં વગરનાં જીવનની કલ્પના કરવી જ મુશ્કેલ છે. માતા જ બાળકને જીવનનું પ્રથમ પગલું માંડતા શીખવાડે છે. માતા પોતે ભીનામાં રહી ને પોતાના બાળકને કોરા માં સુવાડે છે. પોતે ભૂખી રહીને પોતાના બાળકને જમાડે છે. પોતાના બાળકનાં હાસ્ય માટે તે તમામ દુ:ખ અને તકલીફ વેઠવા તૈયાર રહે છે. તે પોતાના બાળકની વાત કહ્યા વગર જ જાણી લે છે. માં શબ્દ માં આખી દુનિયાનો સમાવેશ થઇ જાય છે. આથી જ કહેવાયું છે કે 'જનની ની જોડ સખી નહિ જડે રે લોલ.
