Biography of Mr. Lakshmidhar Tunga
Born on 4th April 1929 in Tigiria Garh,
Athagarh in Cuttack District to Late Shri Fakir Harichandan & Late Smt. Haramani
Devi. He went through many hardships in his early childhood, he always excelled in
his studies and graduated from Christ College, Cuttack. He then graduated in Law
from M.S Law College, Cuttack with a
Gold Medal distinction. He was successful in clearing the Administrative
service exam and held 3rd position. He started his career in the Odisha
Administrative Service in the year 1954 as Dy. Collector of Dhenkanal district.
He has also served as Collector of Balasore, ADM Dhenkanal, and Director of
Community Development. He has served in many important positions during his
service and also in multiple secretariats in Bhubaneswar. He also served as Addl. Secretary
in Health and Revenue secretariat before retiring from GA Department.
He was known in his circle as an honest,
forthcoming, and hardworking officer and was very popular among his peers. Post
his retirement from the service, he took active participation in cultural and
social works in and around Shahid Nagar, Bhubaneswar. A noble heart with an attitude to help others
and supported many families with his helping hands. A firm believer in Karma
and practiced Siddha throughout his life. His teachings will remain in our
hearts forever.
